Action week.

Last week we had an action week . We did a lot of things but the box wars was the best one for me . We made costumes out of boxes it was quite challenging but we did it .  Next it was time to play the game we were going to play capture the flag it was going to be great! It was so exciting .   We were  going to the reserve  .When we got there we started to run the war had began! We were marking people with our  black markers and dodging with our shields . 

It was getting harder and harder my army broke but i could still use my shield  I dodged  the markers and I was trying to get people out of jail but I just couldn't it was so hard that i couldn't get them out .

The box wars was really fun this why it was the best action for me .

The box war was over.  People were so tired and hot because it was a really hot day. When we got back it was lunch time so we put our card board costumes in a big pile to go in the bin but I keep  my shield because I wanted to bring it home  and show my mum.

LTP Playground

 

LTP playground. 

Last week I went to Jonkymonky in room 3 when I got there I started to make a playground with Ella Ester and Alice . So first we got some things to use and then we started. We got some toys and started to create. We made stuff with bits and pieces .

The LTP playground was done it looked great ! There was monkey bars and slides , pools ,and bouncy things it was looking good . 

Now that the LTP playground was done we showed the teacher and she said it was good and that it looks fun!  Excitedly we put our playground into the box we were excited to put some tiny more details on the play ground .

The LTP play ground was now done .HOORAY!

On Tuesday Morning at school we were waiting  for the bus and it was going to be an amazing trip to the pihitia station .   When we got there  it was amazing we were finally at the  farm !   

When we got there we were welcomed by the owner of the farm.  Our class went to heps of  rotations  like what technology the shepherds use to help people on the  farm and we had so much fun .   My favourite rotation was herding the sheep    and we got to herd them and we got to watch  the sheep dogs herd them and that was the best rotation .  

We actually and really  got to hop into the tractor  but we didn't get to drive it it was still fun though .   The pihitia station was so amazing  . One of the stations was how the farmers are trying to trap the pests with traps because they keep eating the native plants and the native animals. I got to see a sheep being sheared .   I learned that a female sheep is called a Uwe. Also a male sheep is called a ram and the baby sheep is called a lamb. The pihitia station was one of the best trips I have ever been on.

 Making Lip balm And Having Fun!

Hooray it`s time to go to my cousins house!

On Wednesday I went to my cousins house .  We were going to make lip balm ! It was so exciting . First we ate yummy food and then we played hide and go seek .

Finally it was time to make another thing we were going to make body cream .We made the body cream with the ingredients.  Then we let it set. We put flowers in the body cream to make it look beautiful . The body cream looked so amazing . 

Once we were done making the lip balm and body cream we went to give the lambs milk. Because my cousins have lambs .They are so cute . Me and Amelia my cousin went to make the milk .First of all we washed the bottles and then we filled them up with hot water then we added the milk powder .

Me and Amelia walked outside and then we gave the milk to the lambs .Amelia has 3 lambs one is called tiny teener and another one is doc and the other is called wonder . The lambs wool was  so fluffy. The lambs felt like a fluffy teddy bear.

I went into the garden with Amila and we were picking strawberries .  The straw berries were so juicy and red . The straw berries were so delicious . It was a cold and hot day and when it was hot the straw berries felt so refreshing and yum!

Then it was time to go I hopped into the car . Then I thought what an amazing time I had at my cousins house ! We did making lip balm and body cream , playing games outside, feeding the lambs, eating yummy food,  and picking big straw berries . I loved feeding the lambs it was so fun . 

Craft fair.

 

Craft Fair !

Yay It's the craft fair !.

On Friday after school it was the craft fair and everyone was  so excited at school.  When it was the craft fair time I was so excited. At the craft fair I bought a scrunchie. Room 11 made them and they were 2 dollars. Next I went to the stall that my class made for the manu taratahi. My grandma bought my manu taratahi that I made. The manu taratahi were 15 dollars.  Then I went to room 9.  They were selling gingerbread men and I ate one and it was delicious, crunch! That  was yum!

Finally I got onto the bouncy castle and I jumped so much.  I slid down the very steep slide, it was so scary !There were so many kids on the bouncy castle.  

                                                   Horse rides!    

I got my helmet on and jumped up on the horse so I could get on the horse. Once I was on the horse I began to ride the horse. The horse was so soft and when I was riding the horse it was a little bit bumpy. The horse walked gracefully on the grass in the golden yellow sun.

There were so many things to do at the craft fair . There were waffles at the craft fair and they looked  so delicious.I saw my friends there. I really enjoyed the craft fair.It was so amazing and fun .  

                    

The craft fair was to raise money for the school and also to have some fun. It only happens every year, close to the end of the year . At the craft fair we have other people come to our gala because they can have fun and because it will help our school raise money. So we can buy the things we need for our school .

The craft fair and gala were really incredible. For example, the stalls we had and the bouncy castles ,pony rides and most of all fun ! I can`t wait till the next craft fair and gala . It  will be as amazing as the one we had this year or maybe even better.  

    

 

Athletics day!

 Athletics day!

On Tuesday last week it was athletics we all had to dress up as our house colors my house color is blue.  For the year 4s we had to start with long Jump. My turn was coming up for  long jump and I was so nervous.

 For long Jump, I sprinted and then I Jumped and landed in the sand. The sand felt nice and cold on a hot day because the sand pit was under a big tree in the shade.  I did my best for it and I was feeling good. That was amazing and really fun.

 

We were getting ready for the sprints and I had butterflies in my tummy. When I heard the bang ! I was sprinting to the finish line. I was close to coming second but they only took the top 2  in each heat I came 3rd place in my heat .  Sprints wasn't my favorite station. 

I jumped over the bar. I didn't make it so I had to go to the yellow cone.  When it was my turn again I made it, it was a  close one because I didn't want to go to the red cone.  But The next round I didn't make  it and I had to go to the red cone . Next I didn't make it again and I had to go watch the other people do their high Jump with the other kids.

Finally it was my turn to do  ball throw . I was so nervous for My turn so I took a deep breath and I picked up the ball and I threw it as far as I could . I got the ball pretty far . I was happy about my ball throw. I liked ball throw it was incredible and fun !

After we did ball throw it was lunch and we got a sausage from  the sausage sizzle and ice cream from the friends of wainui.The food was delicious. That was a amazing athletics day!

Bee Bot Track Challenge

 Beebot Track Challenge.

On Monday morning we were doing this bee bot track challenge thing 

This is how we did it.  We had to write instructions for the bee bots and then we had to make a track with blocks. The spaces had to be 15  cm wide and we had to use rulers and it wasn't as easy as it looks.Once we were done that we got to have a go with the bee bots for our track.We had to make the bee bots do what we had instructed them to do and the bee bots never make a mistake of the directions  - it's what the programmer did wrong!

I learnt about measuring, plus sharing and communication. This was an interesting challenge that we did today. 

If you are wondering what bee bots are; well they are bee Robots and they are really cool because they are good for learning about directions.

I also learnt about our lefts and rights. We had to make our bee bots go the directions we wanted them to.

Tuahine lighthouse.

Tuahine lighthouse 

My class made a lighthouse metaphor and we have been doing things about the lighthouse.  The Tuahine lighthouse means to shine bright when we are doing our best and trying our hardest in things we need to do. That is what the Tuahine lighthouse means to me, that we try our hardest and shine our light . Shine your light when you are learning and try your hardest.

Super Tairawhiti Environment centre

Last week we went on a trip to the Tairawhiti environment centre to learn about how to use less plastic and also how to look after the environment.  Because if we didn't look after the environment then it would be a terrible place to be.  Happily, we went there so we can learn about how to save the environment.

When we went  to a station I learned that the supermarkets were just chucking food out when the food is perfectly fine. 

Kindly  some people from the team at the environment centre  were getting the food that was going to be chucked out and brought it back to the Tairawhiti centre and then they were giving the food to the families that were in need.

Did you know that you can eat a flower?   It's an orange flower and it's really amazing.

Another fact i learned at the Tairawhiti environment centre is worms don't eat spicy things like onion, chilly or any spicy things. Here are some things that the worms do eat and they are cardboard or newspaper and much more.

Also on the trip I learnt new things like how you could use things you want to chuck out.  So  you could use things like milk bottle caps or things you don't need any more, so your turning trash into Treasure and its amazing.

At the environment centre i got to taste yummy foods that were growing in the garden and the ones I tasted was the orange flower that i told you about in paragraph 3. At the centre there was foods growing in the gardens such as kale and peaches  and heaps more.

When we were at the centre I learnt that the dump trucks have to drive up a long way to this big huge hole and all our rubbish is close to peoples homes and that`s not fair. Lets use less plastic and also save the animals, because it isn't fair for the animals. 

Here's the fun bit... we got to hold a worm! They were a bit cold so they didn't move around that much but it was really fun and incredible.
